Kelsey comes from an interdisciplinary background, grounded in architecture, business and the liberal arts. While at Georgetown, she welcomed her first child, which inspired her to found Two Birds. Her own experience as a new parent motivated her to create a space and platform that normalized both parents as primary caregivers to address gender equality in the workforce.

JP Coakley
COO, Co-Founder
A DC native, JP has used his experience in implementing regulatory code requirements to work closely with the local childcare industry and government to ensure Two Birds’ licensing compliance. A minor in Music, JP has made music enrichment a priority at Two Birds. Welcoming his first child in 2017 has inspired him to seek better ways to more seamlessly integrate parenthood and the workplace. Both he and his wife, a freelance video producer, are intimately acquainted with the work life challenges facing Two Birds’ families.
Fun Fact: Prior to becoming an auditor and founding Two Birds, JP was the lead photographer for the band Girl Talk
