I take notes in class and in meetings. I like annotating and scribbling while I do that. Highlighting and doodling are part of my DNA, but losing notebooks is part of my DNA too. The beginning of a new semester is a great time to talk about using your computer in new and effective ways to take notes. OneNote, available to all Bobcats as part of the Microsoft 365 suite of productivity apps, provides you with a cloud-based note-taking tool that you can access from the OneNote app, as well as on the web or mobile device. If your device supports a digital pen, like the Surface, or digital pencil, like the iPad, the possibilities are even more significant. Your notes are all backed up in the cloud, so who cares about losing the notebook or if the computer crashes?

In OneNote, you can type notes, write notes, convert handwritten notes to text, and even draw directly on the page. From any OneNote page select the Draw tab in the ribbon and click your desired pen. Take Note-Taking to a New Level With OneNote OneNote for Windows 10 surely has its quirks, but it is an excellent platform for creating and syncing your notes. OneNote's flexibility can be. A lot of people use Microsoft OneNote for taking notes, but did you know it has tons of ways for you to share and collaborate on those notes with others? Run through this quick slideshow to see if OneNote for desktop, web, or mobile can become even more powerful productivity tools for you and your team or community. Any note you create in Microsoft OneNote can be directly given a shortcut. Create a few note shortcuts on the desktop and try them to see if they speed up your note-taking workflow. In OneNote, right click on the page tab, or section tab that you want the shortcut to go to. Choose Copy Link to Notebook, Copy Link to Section, or Copy Link to Page.
Microsoft OneNote can be incredibly helpful for keeping your notes organized and for saving paper! You can easily insert your PDF into a OneNote notebook and then make any notes on it that you want. You can even draw on your PDF if you have a touch screen or tablet with OneNote.

Accessibility: It’s important to remember if you’re sharing PDFs with your students to make them accessible. This article can help you with that.


- Download the PDF to your desktop or other easily accessible location.
- Open OneNote to your preferred notebook.
- Click on File Printout.
- Browse to the file that you want and clickInsert.
- After you have inserted the PDF you can make notes by clicking outside the image of the pdf and then typing or you can choose to highlight or draw.
This should allow you to use OneNote to keep track of all of your files in one location and save trees while you do it!
